Southampton Town Justice Court, Suffolk County, New York
Traffic tickets received in the Town of Southampton (and outside of the village areas of Southampton, Quogue, Westhampton Beach, Westhampton Dunes and Sag Harbor) are returnable to the Southampton Town Justice Court located at 32 Jackson Ave., Hampton Bays , NY 11946. The Justice Court holds court each weekday beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until approximately 4:00 p.m. but traffic violations are usually heard on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Be aware that the date given on the ticket for the return of the ticket is not the day for a court hearing or trial on the ticket. If you wish to contest the ticket, you must return the ticket to the court with a plea of not guilty by that date and then a court conference will be scheduled. We have great success in getting speeding tickets and other traffic tickets reduced or dismissed in Southampton Town Justice Court without your having to appear in court. Points from tickets can cause your insurance premiums to skyrocket or result in a revoked or suspended license. Avoid points on your license, insurance costs and DMV assessments by having Paul Tuths handle your speeding ticket or other traffic ticket/violation in an eastern Long Island court.
Handling a wide array of traffic violation cases
Paul G. Tuths handles a wide variety of traffic violation cases in the Southampton Town Justice Court such as the following matters:
Paul Tuths takes a personal, hands-on approach to the defense of your traffic violation case. He will interview you over the telephone and through emails and review your documentation to obtain as much information as possible regarding the circumstances surrounding your moving violation. He will provide you with detailed information on how to respond to the traffic ticket and enter a plea of NOT GUILTY. After the ticket is returned to the court with a plea of not guilty, the court sets a conference date at which time Paul Tuths will appear on your behalf and discuss a proposed reduction or dismissal with the prosecutor. On most traffic violations, we are able to proceed in court without your personal appearance based upon your written authorization in order to obtain a final disposition to your traffic ticket or summons. We will prepare the authorization letter for you to sign. From start to finish, Paul Tuths will be the attorney personally handling your case. We DO NOT farm out cases to other attorneys to make our court appearances on traffic tickets. We use our years of experience in the local courts of eastern Long Island to get the best possible result for you. At the conclusion of the court case, if we have been able to proceed without your personal appearance (as is the case in most matters), Paul Tuths will contact you to advise you of the final disposition and the fine imposed by the court (unless the ticket has been dismissed). For moving violations which are reduced to no point parking violations, the court is now requiring that payment of the fine (which is usually $150.00) be made at the court appearance when the ticket is reduced. For those cases in which time is given to pay the fine, we will advise you of the amount of the fine and the date by which payment of the fine is due.
