Miscellaneous Traffic Violations

In addition to speeding tickets, we have had great success in getting miscellaneous traffic violation tickets reduced or dismissed without the driver’s having to appear in court. These violations (which range between 2 and 4 points) include Following Too Closely (VTL 1129), Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign (VTL 1172) , Failing to Stop at a Red Light (VTL 1111.d),  Lane Violations (VTL 1128), Improper Passing (VTL 1126), Turn Signal Violations (VTL 1163) and Disobeying a Traffic Control Device (VTL 1110A) among others.  We appear on miscellaneous traffic violations, as well as tickets for speeding and unlicensed operation, in the Justice Courts of the Town of Southampton, Village of Southampton, Village of Sag Harbor, Town of East Hampton, Town of Riverhead, Town of Southold, Village of Quogue, Village of Westhampton Beach and Village of Westhampton Dunes.

Driving through Southampton and other congested areas of Long Island during the summer months often makes drivers impatient and causes them to take actions that they might not otherwise take. If witnessed by police, these drivers will be stopped and issued traffic tickets which carry points. Points from miscellaneous traffic violations can increase insurance premiums or result in a revoked or suspended license. Avoid points on your license, higher fines, insurance costs and DMV assessments by having attorney Paul Tuths handle your speeding ticket or miscellaneous traffic ticket in a Long Island court.

Our Process

Paul Tuths takes a personal, hands-on approach to the defense of your traffic violation case. He will interview you over the telephone and through emails, review your documentation to obtain as much information as possible regarding your moving violation and handle all contact with the traffic court. After Paul Tuths notifies the court of his representation and enters a plea of NOT GUILTY, the court sets a conference date at which time Paul will appear on your behalf and discuss a proposed reduction or dismissal with the prosecutor. On all traffic violations of this nature, Paul is able to proceed in court without your personal appearance based upon your signing a written authorization prepared by Paul. From start to finish, Paul Tuths will be the attorney personally handling your case. We DO NOT farm out cases to other attorneys to make our court appearances on traffic tickets. We use our years of experience to get the best possible result for you. At the conclusion of the court case, Paul Tuths will contact you to advise you of the final disposition, the fine imposed by the court (unless the ticket has been dismissed) and the date by which payment of the fine is due.

Tuths & Tuths is based in Southampton, NY and serves clients in Southampton and throughout Long Island.
